Bev Pegg & Friends – Kinver Studio Early Recordings 1968-69 During a bit of a “tidying up” of various old reel-to-reel tape recordings on the shelf, this batch of recordings were found. They are not particularly good, nor is the quality of the recordings very good either. The quality is nowhere near commercial recording standards. However, a small batch of these are being listed purely for the possible interest of Clifford T Ward or Dave Cartwright collectors. Basically, it is a batch of eight songs recorded on an impromptu basis by the band guys who were there at the beginning of the various attempts by both of the above singers to record stuff and hope that it might led to their first “break”. At the times when Cliff or Dave was not present in this little studio, various band lads were meeting up with each other there and invariably, their socialising nearly always ended with them deciding to record something. These recordings were listened to, enjoyed, and then put on the shelf while we all got on with other things in our lives. With this small batch of CDs that have been produced, there is a slight fault with the layout of the notes on the inner sleeve. Whilst the outer sleeves are OK, somehow, probably due to the template being slightly off-centre, the inner sleeve notes have approximately a one-degree slant. It isn’t the end of the world, but it does annoy me considerably. If ever another batch are produced, it will definitely be corrected.
