Antique Hatpin Holder Description and Notes: Antique Hatpin Holder Epitome of Women-Geisha Rests w/Fan Among Lotus-Pure & Sacred No chips or cracks. Years of training and education in the very fine arts and culture was required of a Geisha. She represented the epitome of women. Top is adorned with chrysanthemums, cosmos, and lotus, and family maker's character. The head (ornament) is in excellent, hand-painted, solid connection, porcelain. Stem is straight/strong. Marked: Family maker character. Overall, excellent condition. Date: late 1800s early 1900s. Hatpin Height: 4" Base diameter: 2 3/8" . Beautiful example. Collectible.
