Antique Link & Angell L&A Hatpin Sterling Silver c1900 Edwardian Hat Pin Measures approximately 7" long and 1" across the head. Stamped STERLING with the L&A mark, acid scratch tested and confirmed as 925 Sterling Silver. This is a rare find, COLLECTOR PIECE. William Link Co was established in 1871 in Newark, NJ and became Link & Angell in 1900. Out of business in 1915. A polishing cloth was used on this to reveal the hallmark and the monogram. There is tarnish on the pin tip, which is primarily straight. No flaws to note. Very good to excellent vintage condition with minimal signs of wear related to age and use. Vintage metal pieces (Sterling, Copper, Gold) have not been cleaned. We gently wipe with a polishing cloth thereby allowing the buyer to determine the level of patina they desire. Our items are "not for scrap". We are not gemologists, nor jewelers, and opinions provided on stones, gems and metal purity are based on our limited knowledge and the scope of our testing equipment. "What is the purpose of buying vintage if you want it to look new?" We do not clean vintage items and leave that to the discretion of the buyer. All vintage items will show signs of wear consistent with age, as should be expected.
