I purchased a large lot of hat pins at a local auction, I must confess I don’t know much about these items but some were interesting and I decided to take a chance and buy them. I did some research and found out that the long ones are Victorian era at 1908 USA required the pins to be shorter because of worries that the long ones could be used as a weapon. 6” hat pin ~ 1 3/8" diameter rhinestones ~ this piece could be 1800's but I 'm not sure how to tell, it appears to be on the older side ~ good condition with all rhinestones intact, the metal on the back is worn, stick is slightly bent with wear to metal as seen in pics ~ measurements in pics.
