Beautiful Amethyst from Alling & Co This pin measures 2 inches long, including the amethyst. The amethyst is just over 0.25 of an inch long by about 0.25 of an inch wide. The pin weighs about 1.095 gm The hallmark is the maker mark of Alling & Co (1836-1922), what looks like an upside-down 3-leaf clover with the numbers 1 4 on the top and the letter A on the bottom. The amethyst, as well as the pin, is in very good condition. This stickpin comes with the Smith Patterson Co of Boston (1895-1956) jewelry box in which it was found.
