Description

Purchased from the Tom Lawson collection ( Author of the Charles Horner of Halifax book and many other articles on hat pins). A silver hat pin, in excellent condition . A fretwork disc with an open poppy design. Makers mark S J for Samuel Jacob - and hallmarked for London. There is no date letter. Often pieces went to the assay office before fretworking so the date letter would have been left with the sweepings. Samuel Jackson worked between 1892 and 1910. Head 1.1 inch diameter . Length 9.0 inch.
