Stunning ornate and very fine, antique Jeweled Hat Pin, dating to circa: 1890. The antique Hat Pin in a three dimensional tear-drop form, studded with gemstones. It's of exceptional quality, beauty and workmanship. The Hat Pin is 14K Gold (assayed to confirm its carat) with an open-work design, including fleur di lis. The precious and semi precious gemstones are striking in color and variety. The faceted stones include: Citrine, Garnet, 3 very small Diamonds and 2 Sapphires of different colors. The Hat Pin shaft had been shortened at some time in it's past life which is now closer to an antique Stick Pin in length. The overall length (including the Jeweled Top) measures 3 1/4" long. Slight bend where the shaft meets the top portion; does not compromise its physical integrity or the look of the piece when worn. This is a very substantial piece of jewelry in it’s impeccable workmanship and design. With normal minor surface scratches under magnification, the antique Hat Pin shows well in the photos and just as beautiful in person. The photographs were taken with and without a camera flash.
