Description

Beautiful antique hat pin holder , decorated with the city crest of York . Made by Shelley , the base stamp reads 'Late Foley Shelley England': this was used between 1910 and 1916 . It measures 12.5cm in height, 9cm in diameter at the base, 5cm at the top. There are 6 holes for hatpins. The gilded highlights around the top has almost gone; around the base is is rubbed but still there more than not. The crested transfer, with the red cross overpainted by hand, is undamaged.
